There's No "Right Time" To Quit
One of the biggest misconceptions out there about quitting smoking is that there is a “right time” to quit. So many smokers put off quitting because they want to wait for the right time to quit smoking. The fact of the matter is that there is no such thing as a better right time to quit than now!
You can sometimes put off until tomorrow what you can do today, but when it comes to finally getting all of the nasty, hazardous tobacco smoking out of your life, why would you think there is a good reason to wait?
All it takes is to make the decision once and for all. No one else is going to ever do it for you. You are the one that started smoking and you are the one that has to make it stop.
It doesn't matter when you decide. It can be in the morning, in the middle of the afternoon or at night before you go to bed. Just don't make yourself any promises you don't intend to keep.
This is one reason so many people use the step down approach to quitting smoking. You are not making a huge promise to never ever smoke again only to break that promise right into when your resolves fades. If you must, take the step down method and do as good as you can. Just keep reminding yourself that you are quitting. If you slip up and smoke like so many of us do, just pick up where you left off and keep trying! It not an easy thing to smoke in public anymore, so this should help you at least cut out those times when you normally smoke.
